Gloucestershire stretches from historic towns and cities into some of the most recognisable landscapes and villages of the Cotswolds. It is the sort of county where the journey between destinations can become part of the day out.
Here you’ll find places I’ve explored across Gloucestershire, including architecture, gardens, historic streets, countryside and Cotswold stops. Some were destinations I specifically travelled to see; others earned their place simply because I decided to stop and have a look.

Cheltenham: I Came for the Sights, but Stayed for the Atmosphere

I came to Cheltenham for the Regency sights and a famous fountain that turned out smaller than expected. But beautiful gardens, lively streets and a completely different atmosphere after dark were what really won me over.
