One More Stop (onemorestop.co.uk) is an independent UK travel and heritage website operated by Jozsef Jesztrebszki, trading as One More Stop. This policy explains how I handle personal information when you browse the website, contact me, offer material for publication or support the project financially.
Information I Collect
When you browse the website, technical information may be processed, including your IP address, browser, device information, pages visited and website performance or security information. When you contact One More Stop, I collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, message and any details relevant to your enquiry. When you contribute content, I may also receive photographs, written submissions, location information, your preferred credit name and website or social media links. I only request the information necessary to consider and manage your contribution. When you support One More Stop financially, Stripe processes payment information. I may receive payment records, contribution amounts, dates, billing status, email addresses and names where provided. I do not receive or store your full payment card details.
How Your Information Is Used
Personal information is used to operate and secure the website, respond to enquiries, assess submissions, communicate about potential contributions, manage voluntary payments and maintain appropriate financial records. Website analytics help me understand which articles readers find useful, how the website performs and where improvements may be needed. I do not add someone to a promotional mailing list simply because they have contacted One More Stop, submitted a photograph or made a contribution.
Lawful Basis for Processing
I use personal information for the purposes described in this policy on the following bases:
- Legitimate interests: Responding to enquiries, assessing proposed contributions, administering voluntary support and protecting the website against misuse, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Contract: Processing information necessary to carry out an agreement with you, such as an agreed publication arrangement or recurring support arrangement, or to take steps you request before entering into one.
- Legal obligations: Keeping information needed to meet applicable accounting, tax and other legal requirements.
- Consent: Using optional analytics and external-media technologies where you have agreed to them, and any other processing for which I specifically request your consent.
You do not have to contact me, contribute material or make a payment. If you choose to do so, I need the relevant information to respond, consider your submission or manage your support. Before publishing a contribution, we will agree on its intended use and how you wish to be credited.
Cookies and Analytics
One More Stop uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies. Google Analytics, connected through Google’s Site Kit for WordPress, helps me understand how visitors use the website. Optional analytics cookies are withheld unless you allow analytics. Google’s Consent Mode may still send limited signals without analytics cookies when consent is denied.
Some articles contain embedded YouTube videos, which remain blocked until you allow external media. The translation feature is provided by GTranslate and may communicate with external translation services when used.
You can accept or reject optional cookies and change your choices through Cookie settings in the website footer. See the Cookie Policy for information about the technologies used, their purposes and typical durations.
Payments Through Stripe
One More Stop uses Stripe to process optional one-off and recurring monthly contributions. Stripe may collect and process information necessary for payment authorisation, fraud prevention, billing, receipts, refunds and subscription management. Stripe has its own privacy information explaining how it processes payment data: https://stripe.com/gb/privacy Monthly supporters can manage their payment arrangements through Stripe’s Customer Portal.
Reader Contributions and Publication
If you submit photographs, stories, articles or local knowledge, the material will be reviewed before any publication is agreed. Your name, credited work and any website or social media link you have agreed to display may become publicly visible if your contribution is featured. I will not intentionally publish private contact details or identifying information that you have not agreed to make public.
Service Providers and External Websites
One More Stop uses Hostinger for website hosting, WPForms to collect contact-form submissions, Google’s Gmail service for email correspondence, Google Analytics for website analytics, GTranslate for translation, YouTube for embedded videos and Stripe for payments.
These providers may process information as necessary to deliver their services, maintain security, process payments or provide analytics. Where a feature is provided by another company, that company’s privacy information may also apply; for example, Google’s Privacy Policy, YouTube’s privacy information and Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
Service providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Google describes reliance on adequacy decisions, the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses where required in its data-transfer information. Stripe’s Data Processing Agreement and Hostinger’s Privacy Policy describe their processing and international-transfer arrangements. You can contact One More Stop for information about the safeguards relevant to your data and how to obtain a copy.
Articles may contain links to independent websites or affiliate partners. When you follow these links, the destination website’s own privacy and cookie policies may apply.
How Long Information Is Kept
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose. Contact enquiries and unpublished submissions are reviewed periodically and deleted when they are no longer needed, unless further correspondence, an ongoing arrangement or a legal obligation requires their retention. Published contributions and agreed credits may remain available while the relevant content is published, subject to applicable rights and agreements. Financial and transaction records are retained for the periods required by applicable tax, accounting and legal obligations. Technical and analytics information is retained according to the website’s configured retention periods and legitimate operational requirements.
Keeping Information Secure
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information, including appropriate access controls and reputable service providers. No online system can guarantee absolute security, but personal information is not intentionally disclosed beyond what is needed for legitimate operation, an agreed publication or a legal requirement.
Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access personal information, request correction or erasure, restrict or object to processing, receive portable copies of certain information, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. To make a privacy request, contact One More Stop using the details below. Requests will be considered in accordance with applicable UK data protection law, normally within one month unless an extension is permitted. If consent is the lawful basis for particular processing, you may withdraw that consent without affecting processing already carried out lawfully.
Your right to object: You can object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting One More Stop. I will consider your request in accordance with applicable data protection law.
